Affordable Homes in Thousand Oaks

Thank you for your interest in the affordable home project in Thousand Oaks!

On Tuesday, November 1, 2022 the City of Thousand Oaks selected People’s Self-Help Housing Corporation as the real estate developer for the Hillcrest housing project in Thousand Oaks. VCCDC, Housing Trust Fund of Ventura County, Housing Land Trust of Ventura County, McCarthy Companies (builder) and DiCecco Architecture (architect) are also collaborating partners on this project. As proposed, the project will consist of eight three story buildings with attached garages. The 78 townhomes varying from one to four bedrooms will be built on a 3.86-acre location on Erbes Road (former site of the Hillcrest Christian School) and will be sold to low-and moderate-income households making 80% - 120% AMI for the County of Ventura. VCCDC will be working to provide families with first-time homebuyer loan products and down payment assistance.

The proposed development is in its preliminary approval stage and has no start or completion date. Applications are NOT being accepted at this time. If you wish to obtain updates on this project please sign up for the email list below.
