VCCDC Hosts First Homeownership Conference in Kern County

 

(Bakersfield, CA) – VCCDC, a nonprofit serving Central and Southern California, hosted their first in-person Annual Kern County Homeownership Conference “A New Way Home” on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bakersfield with presenting sponsors U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo and in collaboration with the City of Bakersfield and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Over 300 hopeful homebuyers joined this one-of-a-kind event and had the opportunity to:

  • Access information about programs offering up to $109,000 in down-payment assistance

  • Attend workshops offering information on topics like credit and down payment assistance

  • Attend panel with information on the latest homebuying programs

  • Visit exhibitor booths from financial institutions offering various programs

  • Real-time networking with other homebuyers

  • Free expert advice from industry professionals

Offered in English, Spanish and American Sign Language, the conference provided individuals and families in Kern County and throughout Central California the best guidance and practical tools to help them achieve their dream of owning or preserving their home.

The event kicked off with an in-person VCCDC Homeownership Conference onsite Loan Center where pre-registered conference attendees obtained a free, personalized 30-minute consultation with loan officers from VCCDC and U.S. Bank. The Loan Center successfully pre-qualified $3.7 million in loans on the day of the event helping potential homebuyers get one step closer to the dream of homeownership.

The conference was a family event and provided lunch for adults and children in attendance. Radio Lobo 102.9 and Radio Classic Hits 92.1 broadcasted a live remote from the Homeownership Conference.

VCCDC’s Homeownership Conference is the only one of its kind that has been a mainstay for Ventura County and is now coming to Kern County.
