VCCDC Executive Director, Bertha M. Garcia, Featured as a 2024 Mortgage Lending Women of Inspiration

On International Women's Day, cheers to celebrating the incredible women who inspire us every single day! Today we highlight our incredible Founder and Executive Director, Bertha M. Garcia and congratulate her for being featured as a 2024 Mortgage Lending Women of Inspiration in the National Mortgage Professional Magazine! Read the feature here: https://bit.ly/49OCYUv. Bertha's remarkable leadership and expertise have been instrumental in co-creating housing solutions in one of the most expensive housing markets in the U.S. Her efforts have not only helped bridge the racial and gender wealth gap through homeownership but have also positively impacted the lives of thousands of local low- and moderate-income homebuyers, with a particular focus on women. With over 30 years in the homeownership and mortgage industry, Bertha's dedication has been unwavering, making homeownership more accessible to those who have historically faced barriers, especially women of color. This year's International Women's Day theme, #InspireInclusion, serves as a reminder of the ongoing work needed to ensure equal access to homeownership for women. We are reminded of the historical challenges faced by women, particularly women of color, in accessing financial systems and homeownership opportunities due to discriminatory policies and gender pay disparities. Despite progress, these barriers persist today, emphasizing the importance of VCCDC's continued efforts to promote inclusivity in homeownership. Bertha's strong leadership will continue to guide us in our mission to ensure that low- and moderate- income households have a fair chance at achieving the dream of owning a home. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do, Bertha!
